Thesis title; Role of the NLRX1 in regulation of macrophage and T cell functions for preventing acute and chronic inflammation
Dr. Ja-Hyun Koo completed B.S. and Ph.D. degree in Life Science from Hanyang University. He joined Dr. Choi's Lab in 2010 during his undergraduate program and started Ph.D. studies in 2013 with great interest in immunology and therapeutic applications. During Ph.D. course, he focused on developing novel cell penetrating peptides which preferably delivered to macrophages and immune regulatory molecules by targeting inflammasome and NF-kB such as the NLRX1 recombinant proteins, to treat multiple sclerosis, sepsis, etc. Recently, he is working on elucidating therapeutic targets that regulate bystander-activated T cells.
